"I AM BECAUSE WE ARE - UBUNTU PHILOSOPHY"
BWAGAMOYO AFRICULTURE is a community arts centre based in Bagamoyo Coast region engaging in Arts performances, Arts training, Children's Theatre, public interventions, and sensitization using theatre and arts to bring in transformation and change, after school teaching and a breeding residence for arts practitioners.

WHO WE ARE
Bwagamoyo Africulture Founded in 2005 by a diverse group of 15 TaSuBa graduates and artists, we began as a traditional drum dance performing group. Over the years, we have evolved a nurturing space dedicated to sharing our artistic talents and empowering the next. Since 2023, we have provided a safe haven for artists and children from disadvantaged backgrounds in Bagamoyo offering art materials and guidance to inspire joy and creativity. Join us in making a difference through the transformative power of art!
WHAT WE DO
Since 2023, Bwagamoyo Africulture has been a safe and inspiring space for artists and children in Bagamoyo from disadvantaged backgrounds. With TaSuBa (the Tanzanian College of Arts) as our next-door neighbour and supporter, we provide space and art materials for kids and teens who normally hang out on the streets all afternoon. With us, they find joy, happiness, inspiration, physical challenges and guidance from skilled teachers.

MISSION
Our mission is to widen the opportunity for enthusiastic artists to access professional training spaces, connect, share, and train together to affect and acquire practical and cognitive skills. Africulture therefore is aspiring to become the centre of excellence that provides high-end training in arts and culture development in a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment that builds a foundation for life-long learning.
VISION
Our vision is to develop well-rounded, confident, creative, and responsible individuals who aspire to achieve their full potential (personal development) in various spiritual, moral, social, and cultural contexts. This vision will be accomplished by providing a welcoming, happy, safe, and supportive learning environment in which everyone will be treated equally with respect and nobility. Africulture is therefore established to nurture, promote, preserve, and celebrate our cultural values and practices while enhancing awareness and experience of other shared traditions and identities.
